It is EASY to put dd-wrt on the R6900! I did it a few days ago now after purchasing my Costco Nighhawk R6900 for $139. I looked around a LOT and applied hints I found around for other models. I flashed my R6700 router with dd-wrt and was using it fine for quite sometime. I then wanted to revert back to the Stock firmware and tried to use the dd-wrt admin tab to update. Interestingly it did everything and rebooted but stayed back on dd-wrt. Did googling around and tried various suggestions including the hard reset. Now at the end, I have this router powered on with various lights - *.bin files can only be flashed from dd-wrt webif. - *.chk can be flashed from Netgear factory fw and from dd-wrt webif - I don't provide factory to dd-wrt for non Netgear models since I do not own any non Netgear Broadcom units. All builds include ddup util, which allows update checking and flashing of the following models: Netgear EX6200 Since both Netgear and DD-WRT have issues with the r8000 it makes me wonder if the real problem is the drivers being provided by Broadcomm. Broadcomm requires you to pay for a license, which DD-WRT does but Openwrt doesn't, therefore no Openwrt/LEDE support for these guys.
